V-BOTTOM

A long forgotten transition era shape, the V-Bottom is an outstanding hydrodynamic exploit. A deep V runs along the entire bottom: rolled at first and progressively shifting into a panel V that extends right till the tail where it ends dramatically, resembling an open book. The rails are pinched but not too slim at the middle for a forgiving trim, but get really sharp at the tail allowing you to carve its wide diamond tail really hard. The amount of water this bottom displaces is impressive, making the board sit really low in the water an giving you an unparalleled feeling of connection with the wave, on the other hand when pressed on the tail it swings from rail to rail forcing you to loosen your hip if you want to tame it.
This is a very friendly board in small to medium surf, however, very tricky to surf in waves with a bit more punch as it tends to drift or even spin-off due to the extreme amount of V and width of the tail.
